Mr. Herb Johnson & Mr. Dan Collie

Mr. Herb Johnson is a martial arts teacher, businessman, performer, and former internationally ranked competitor. Mr. Johnson, 8th Dan, began his martial arts training in 1963. In 1968, he was Mr. Bill Wallace's roommate at Ball State University. He is the only person, except for Mr. Wallace, to win the Grand Champion title at the USKA World Championships three years in a row.


Mr. Johnson appeared in the martial arts video, Escape, a Clark and Black production, and shared the starring role with Claude Akins in the movie, Pushed Too Far. While Mr. Johnson's tournament wins are far too numerous to mention, some of his honors include the AKA Hall of Fame, 1977; Trias International Society Hall of Fame, 1979; USKA Instructor of the year and AKA Coach of the Year. Mr. Johnson is presently a top official for the PKC and has judged fifteen world title fights. He is the style head of his Karate System, a member of the Executive Board for the USKA, and a member of the Rules Committee for the PKC.
